This mouse IgG2b monoclonal antibody was generated against calf serum and recognizes bovine and goat alpha 2-macroglobulin.
Alpha-2-Macroglobulin is a large plasma protein found in the blood. Alpha-2-macroglobulin is able to inactivate an enormous variety of proteinases (including serine-, cysteine-, aspartic- and metalloproteinases and is also an inhibitor of fibrinolysis. It major function as an inhibitor of coagulation by inhibiting thrombin.
