This mouse IgG1 monoclonal antibody [6B5] recognizes Y. pestis surface antigens other than F1, allowing for temperature-independent detection.
Highlights:
- Detects Y. pestis at temperatures lower than 37C
- Detects both F1 and non-F1 antigen fractions
- Highly Specific - No cross reactivity with other enterics
Yersinia pestis, best known as the plague, is a gram-negative rod-shaped bacterium responsible for high mortality epidemics throughout human history. Most available immunosassays for Y. pestis are based on detection of F1, the dominant surface antigen expressed by the pathogen when it is grown at 37C. The advantage of detecting Y. pestis at room temperature, allows contamination testing in water, juice, milk and food.
