Anti-H3K4me3 Antibody

This H3K4me3 rabbit polyclonal antibody was raised against a modified branched peptide and recognizes histone H3 tri-methylated on lysine 4 (H3K4me3).

H3K4me3 indicates the addition of a trimethyl group to the 4th lysine residue on the histone H3 protein, and is often associated with transcription of nearby genes. This trimethylation regulates gene expression through chromatin remodeling by the NURF complex. H3K4me3 has an important role in stem cell potency and early embryogenesis, DNA repair, and is commonly used as a histone mark in epigenetic studies.

The antibody detects a single protein of approximately 14 kDa by western blot using acid extracted histones. The antibody has been tested in chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) experiments against a strain lacking all H3K4 methyltransferase activity and determined to be specific.
