Anti-Rat Gi alpha2 [5C11] Antibody

This IgG1 mouse antibody was generated against rat guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(i) subunit alpha-2 (Gi alpha2, or GNAI2) and recognizes rodent and human Gi alpha2 homologs.

Highlights:

  • Reacts with rodent and human Gi alpha2 homologs
  • Suitable for Western Blot applications

Heterotrimeric guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G-proteins) are a family of proteins consisting of Gα, Gβ, and Gγ subunits. There are four separate subtypes of alpha subunits: i, o, z & t (Gi/o/z/t). Intracellular signaling pathways are activated by Gi/o/z/t in response to activation of cell surface G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). GNAI2 gene encodes guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(i), alpha-2 subunit in humans. G(i) proteins play a role in hormonal regulation of adenylate cyclase and possibly in cell division.
