mCh-Moonbody Plasmid

mCh-Moonbody Plasmid for expression of GFP-tagged light switchable monobody against the SH2 domain of ABL kinase (Light-OFF switch).

Highlights:

  • Can be controlled by photons (light) emitting in the range of 400-500nm
  • Substantially smaller in size than conventional antibodies
  • Responds to light within seconds in the form of OFF-switches

Intracellular single-domain antibodies (intrabodies) and their mimetics derived from synthetic protein scaffolds (e.g., nanobodies and monobodies) are used with the aim to overcome shortcomings of natural antibody molecules. Due to their smaller size, no disulfide-bond formation and ease of in vitro and cellular expression, monobodies may serve as useful tools for both research and potential diagnostic/therapeutic applications. Several classes of chemically or light-dependent single-domain antibodies have been produced through recent engineering efforts.
