Anti-TNFSF13/APRIL [A3D8] Antibody

This armenian hamster monoclonal antibody, TNFSF13/APRIL, was raised against Maltose binding protein (MBP) fusion of mouse soluble APRIL. Although the epitope is not known, the antibody stains APRIL - transfected cells.

Highlights:

  • The antibody stains APRIL-transfected cells
  • Suitable for flow cytometry, ELISA (reported in literature) applications

Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13 (TNFSF13), also known as APRIL (A proliferation-inducing ligand), is a protein coding gene and a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This cytokine is a ligand for TNFRSF17/BCMA, also interacts with TNFRSF13B/TACI. It was reported to be expressed in high levels in transformed cell lines, cancers of colon, thyroid, lymphoid tissues, and specifically in monocytes and macrophages. TNFSF13 is found to be important for B cell development. It plays a role in regulation of tumor cell growth and is associated with diseases such as Brain Glioblastoma Multiforme and Rheumatoid Arthritis. The clinical relevance of this protein has also shown to be as a potential target for autoimmune diseases and B cell malignancies.
