Xenopus Carcass Fibroblast Cell Line (XTC-2[BirAV5-FLBIO-xKLF9])

XTC-2[BirAV5-FLBIO-xKLF9] is an adult Xenopus carcass fibroblast cell line engineered to express the biotin ligase BirAV5 and Xenopus Krüppel-like factor 9 BIO fusion protein (becomes biotinylated in vivo).

Highlights:

  • This cell line expresses biotinylated KLF9 for chromatin precipitation sequencing, protein-protein interactions, etc.

Comments
Notes from the provider: L-15 works well, but the cells can be cultured in other media like DMEM and MEM. These cells can be cultured in unstripped FBS. The decision to strip thyroid hormones (using resin) or steroids (using charcoal) depends on what experiment one is doing (i.e., adding back the hormone to look at physiological or transcriptional responses).
