Heteromannan (HM) is one of the cell wall polymers in the plant kingdom, consisting of β-(1-4)-linked backbones of glucose (Glc) and mannose (Man) units. The plant cell wall surrounds the plant cell in a network of polysaccharides classed inlcuding pectic polysaccharides and glycoproteins.
