Neutrophil Specific, PET Imaging Agent

This neutrophil-detection reagent, cFLFLFK-PEG-64Cu, targets the formyl peptide receptor (FPR) on leukocytes and is suitable for PET imaging applications.

Highlights:

  • Copper-64 labeled PET imaging agent specific for neutrophils
  • Consists of neutrophil-specific cFLFLF; biocompatible PEG; and the radioisotope 64Cu
  • Can be used for in vivo imaging and in vitro cell function assays
  • Probe has the ability to detect and quantify neutrophilic accumulation

Neutrophils are among the first leukocytes to reach a site of injury, and they are abundant at focal sites of infection. The ability to detect and quantify neutrophilic accumulatio could be important not only in locating and identifying inflammatory lesions but also in facilitating the development and testing of antiinflammatory agents.
