Anti-TXNDC8 (SPTRX-3) Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody was generated against thioredoxin domain-containing protein 8 (TXNDC8, SPTRX-3) and recognizes human, mouse, and rat TXNDC8.

Highlights:

  • Reacts with human, mouse, and rat TXNDC8
  • Suitable for Western Blot, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunoflourescence applications

Thioredoxin domain-containing protein 8 (TXNDC8, SPTRX-3) may be required for post-translational modification of proteins required for acrosomal biogenesis. TXNDC8 may act by reducing disulfide bonds within the sperm. The protein is testis-specific, and is only expressed during spermiogenesis, prominently in the Golgi apparatus of pachytene spermatocytes and round and elongated spermatids, with a transient localization in the developing acrosome of round spermatids. TXNDC8 accumulates in superfluous cytoplasm of defective human spermatozoa.
