This mouse IgG1 monoclonal antibody was raised against sucrose-gradient purified monkeypox virus copenhagen (MPXV Cph) and recognizes MPXV and some other orthopoxviruses.

Monkeypox virus (MPV) is a double-stranded DNA, zoonotic virus and a species of the genus Orthopoxvirus in the family Poxviridae. It is a disease that has similar charactersists to smallpox but with a milder rash and a lower death rate. The virus causes disease in both humans and animals.
