Methyltetrazine-NHS Ester

Methyltetrazine-NHS Ester is an amine-reactive building block used for modification of amine-containing molecule in organic media. It reacts with primary amines (e.g., side chain of lysine residues or aminosilane-coated surfaces) at neutral or slightly basic pH to form covalent bonds. Short spacer arm adds minimal mass to modified molecules (230.2 daltons).

Tetrazine/TCOs are heterobifunctional reagents used for converting azido-containing peptides or protein into tetrazine-modified peptides or protein without the need for catalyst or axillary reagents. The inverse-electron demand Diels-Alder cycloaddition reaction of TCO with tetrazines is a bioorthogonal reaction that possesses exceptional kinetics (k > 800 -1s-1) and selectivity. Such excellent reaction rate constants are unparalleled by any other bioorthogonal reaction pair described to date.
