Anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) [6H4] Antibody

This mouse IgG2b monoclonal antibody was generated against equine tumor necrosis factor (TNF) protein and is specific for equine TNF.

Highlights:

  • Reacts with equine TNF
  • Has the ability to neutralize ETNFa and rHTNFa
  • Some cross-reactivity observed with rHTNFa. None with nETNFß, nMTNFa, rMTNFß and rPTNFa
  • Useful tool for the development of therapeutic agents against diseases associated with production of equine TNFa, such as Gram-negative infections, neonatal sepsis and auto-immune disorders
  • Recommended for Western Blot and ELISA applications

Tumor necrosis factor is a cell signaling protein or cytokine that is involved in inflammation, and specifically one of the proteins in the acute phase reaction. TNF is produced mainly by macrophages but other white cells too. Some of its roles are to induce fever, apoptotic cell death, inhibit tumorigenesis and inflammation. Diseases associated with dysregulation of TNF production include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Psoriasis, Alzheimer's and cancer.
