Human Pancreatic Duct Epithelial Cell Line (H6c7)

H6c7 is an immortalized epithelial cell line derived from normal human pancreatic duct epithelial (HPDE) cells. This cell line is an attractive model for human pancreatic duct cell carcinogenesis studies.

Highlights

  • Demonstrate near normal genotype and phenotype of HPDE cells
  • Display copy number of p16INK4A gene, wild type p53 and KRAS genes
  • Morphologically similar to the primary HPDE cells, grow anchorage-dependently and do not form tumors in scid mice
  • Growth remains inhibited by transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta 1
