IFN-alpha Antibodies

These mouse IgG monoclonal antibodies were generated against E. coli expressed chicken Interferon alpha (IFN-α) and recognise chicken IFN-α.

Highlights:

  • Reacts with chicken IFN-α
  • Suitable for Western Blot and ELISA (Lee et al., 2020 Vet. Immunol. Immunopathol. 229, 110124) applications

Interferon alpha (IFN-α) is involved in innate immune response against infection by stimulation of both macrophages and natural killer cells. It belongs to the type I interferon family and (as well as IFN-β and IL-12 cytokines) plays a critical role in defense against viruses. In chickens, the importance of type I IFN's role in viral infection has been reported in many studies.
