This mouse monoclonal Anti-Hepatitis Delta Virus (HDV) antibody was raised against Hepatitis Delta Antigen (HDAg). The two antibody clones, FD3A7 & FD5C4, were screened to ensure pan-genotypic specificity.
Chronic Hepatitis Delta Virus (HDV) infections represent the most severe form of viral hepatitis with about 20 million infected individuals worldwide. HDV is a satellite virus of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), which means that all patients chronically infected with HDV are always co-infected with HBV. There are 8 different HDV genotypes described worldwide. The HDV genome encodes for only one protein: the Hepatitis Delta Antigen (HDAg).

(A) Western blot. Lysates of cells expressing HDAg of different genotypes was separated by SDSPAGE, blotted and incubated with the mAb FD3A7 at 1:500 dilution. (B) Immunofluorescence. HuH7 cells were transfected with plasmids encoding HDAg of different HDV genotypes. Cells were fixed, permeabilized and incubated with the two mAb clones at 1:20-500 dilution. A goatanti-mouse-Alexa545 antibody was used for detection. Both mAb clones detect HDAg of all HDV genotypes.
