Mouse (FVB/N) Tissue Samples
Tissue samples from various organs of FVB/N mice. Avaliable in histological tissue section on glass slide (HS) or paraffin-embedded tissue block (PETB) formats. Tissues are from healthy animals, unless otherwise indicated.
The FVB/N mouse was created by inbreeding Swiss mice at the National Institutes of Health for the Fv1b allele which confers sensitivity to the Friend leukemia virus B strain. FVB/N mice have a white coat color (albino), because they are homozygous for the non-functional tyrosinase gene (Tyrc) on chromosome 7. FVB/N mice are also homozygous for the Pde6brd1 allele, which results in early onset retinal degeneration and consequent blindness. Additionally, FVB/N is highly susceptible to asthma-like airway hyper-responsiveness with simultaneous generation of significant amount of antigen-specific IgE. FVB/NJ are resistant to collagen-induced arthritis. FVB/N mice are exceptionally prolific breeders.
