Job Description

The Product Manager will contribute to the execution of product portfolio management across the company’s programs with academic and industrial suppliers. This person will help to develop and manage an on-line global e-commerce catalog of on-market and new products. Primary responsibilities include the development of web content and marketing material (including SEO and Google Adwords). The ability to see new product/business opportunities, set and meet aggressive objectives and develop strong working relationships will be required for success.

Strong science, business and customer focus are essential. Effectiveness in this role requires the ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal), with a working knowledge of operating plans as well as industry practices for commercializing, promoting and selling similar products.

Essential functions include:

  • Assist with the new product sourcing and commercialization processes from concept through delivery to the customer, including definition of product value proposition, pricing, reviewing and disseminating technical information, and managing product launches.
  • Author web and marketing content for new products and manage the on-line product catalog, including technical data, protocols, and other documentation, as needed.
  • Assist with providing customer technical support, as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Kerafast team to drive growth.

Experience
Demonstrated effectiveness in presenting scientific information. Prior experience with marketing, product management, sales or customer service role including participating in market analysis, planning and new product development preferred. Hands-on life science laboratory research experience a plus.

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or higher in life sciences (experience in life science tools product management considered a plus).
  • Experience with e-commerce, SEO, Google Adwords and viral marketing strongly desired.
  • Experience with HTML and web content a plus.
  • Understanding of biology, chemistry, immunology, genomics, molecular biology, and related life sciences.
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Outlook required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to effectively communicate value proposition and technical information to a range of customer and internal audiences required.

Reporting
On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will take direction from the Director of Product Management.

Position Location

  • This position is based in Boston at the Company’s headquarters in the waterfront Innovation District.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of time.
  • Local candidates are preferred but self-relocated candidates are encouraged to apply.
