Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Protein [mBG17] Antibody Expression Plasmids

Plasmids expressing heavy and kappa chains, which when co-transfected into mammalian cells (such as 293F) will produce secreted antibody mBG17 that recognizes SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigen.

Highlights:

  • Recognizes SARS-CoV2 Nucleocapsid protein
  • mBG17 did show cross reaction with SARS-CoV nucleocapsid protein and minor cross-reaction with HuCoV-NL63 nucleocapsid protein was observed by ELISA, but no cross-reaction was observed with other coronavirus N proteins.
  • Suitable for ELISA, immunofluorescence assay, and western blot applications

A panel of mouse monoclonal antibodies targeting the SARS-CoV-2 N protein were generated and characterized. Truncated recombinant N protein was expressed and purified, used the recombinant antigen to immunize mice and generated a panel of hybridomas, and tested the resulting clones for activity in western blots, ELISAs, and immunofluorescence assays with SARS-CoV-2 infected cells. Cross-reactivity of the antibodies against SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, HuCoV-NL63, HuCoV-HKU1, HuCoV-OC43and HuCoV-229E N protein was tested.
