Bone sialoprotein (BSP) is a component of tissues such as bone, dentin, cementum and calcified cartilage. BSP is a phosphorylated glycoprotein and has been found in cells such as osteoblasts and osteocytes. Bone sialoprotein could be a potential serum marker for monitoring bone remodelling.
