Anti-PRRT2 Antibody

This rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody was raised against a recombinant mouse proline-rich transmembrane protein 2 (Prrt2)-GST fusion, and recognizes N-terminal human, mouse, and rat PRRT2.

Highlights:

  • Reacts with the N-terminus of human, mouse, and rat PRRT2
  • Suitable for Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation and Immunoflourescence applications

The function of the PRRT protein is unknown, although it is thought to be involved in signaling in the brain. Studies show that it interacts with another protein called SNAP25, which is involved in signaling between nerve cells (neurons) in the brain. SNAP25 helps control the release of neurotransmitters, which are chemicals that relay signals from one neuron to another. Mutations in this protein have been linked to episodic kinesigenic dyskinesia-1, a neurological disorder.
