MYD88 KO (C57/129J) Macrophage Cell Line

A myeloid differentiation primary response 88 (MYD88) KO macrophage cell line isolated from bone marrow in C57/129 mice after immortalization with a retrovirus (J2) containing the myc and v-raf oncogenes.

The MYD88 gene provides instructions for making a protein involved in signaling within immune cells. The MyD88 protein acts as an adapter, connecting proteins that receive signals from outside the cell to the proteins that relay signals inside the cell. C57BL/6 also known as C57 black 6, C57 or black 6, is a common inbred strain of laboratory mouse. They are the most widely used and best-selling mouse strain, due to the availability of congenic strains, easy breeding, and robustness. 129 mice are widely used in the production of targeted mutations due to the availability of multiple embryonic stem cell lines derived from them. They also have a high incidence of spontaneous testicular teratomas.
