Anti-VEGF Receptor 3/Flt4 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody was generated against peptide and is specific for zebrafish vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3 (Flt4).

Highlights:

  • Reacts with zebrafish Flt4
  • Binds to the epitope CASDELERFEHKHRGA
  • Suitable for Immunoprecipitation and Whole Mount Immunostaining applications

Flt4 is known as a tyrosine-protein kinase that acts as a cell-surface receptor for vegf or vegfc. Flt4 is also involved in angiogenesis, specifically in VEGF-induced sprouting of new blood vessels, but not required for proper vasculogenesis or hematopoiesis.

Western Blot and Whole Mount Immunostaining

(A) Western blot of Flt4 immunoprecipitates from NIH3T3 cells transfected with a plasmid expressing full length zebrafish Flt4. Transfected cells were treated with conditioned medium (CM) from cells expressing zebrafish Vegfc, or from mock-transfected cells. Western blot was probed with antibodies against phosphotyrosine (pTyr) and zebrafish Flt4.

(B) Whole mount immunostaining using polyclonal antibody against zebrafish Flt4 on wild type and flt4null mutant embryos fixed at 30 hours post fertilization. Positive staining is denoted in the posterior cardinal vein (PCV) endothelial cells in wild type, but not flt4null mutant, embryos. Fluorescence signal was generated after primary immunostaining by using goat anti-rabbit IgG(H+L)-HRP followed by detection with tyramide-Cy3.
