7-Dehydrodesmosterol

Sterol intermediate in the cholesterol biosynthesis pathway. Reacts with the dienophile, 4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazoline-3,5-dione (PTAD) to give products that have unique MS fragmentation patterns. This assay increases the sensitivity and shortens the analysis time. In addition, the availability of isotopic standards allows quantitation of the sterol.
