Anti-Stargazin-like TARP (CACNG2) Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody was generated against the cytoplasmic domain of stargazin/TARPgamma-2 (CACNG2, stargazin) and recognizes stargazin/g-2 and other TARP family proteins (g-3, g-4 and g-8).

Highlights:

  • Reacts with stargazin (CACNG2, TARP gamma-2), gamma-3, gamma-4 and gamma-8
  • Suitable for Immunohistochemistry and biochemistry (western blotting and immunoprecipitation) applications

Stargazin (Voltage-dependent calcium channel gamma-2 subunit, CANG2, TARP gamma-2) regulates the trafficking and gating properties of AMPA-selective glutamate receptors (AMPARs). It promotes their targeting to the cell membrane and synapses and modulates their gating properties by slowing their rates of activation, deactivation and desensitization. It does not show subunit-specific AMPA receptor regulation and regulates all AMPAR subunits. It is thought to stabilize the calcium channel in an inactivated (closed) state.
