Anti-EGFR [425] Antibody

This mouse IgG monoclonal antibody was generated against A431 carcinoma cells and recognizes human epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR).

Highlights:

  • Specific for human EGFR
  • Recognizes the active form of EGFR in both glycosylated and non-glycosylated EGFR
  • Suitable for Western Blot applications

EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds to epidermal growth factor as well as transforming growth factor alpha (TGFa). It is a member of the epidermal growth factor family and is closely related to receptor tyrosine kinases. Mutations that lead to EGFR overexpression (known as upregulation) or overactivity have been associated with a number of cancers, including lung cancer, anal cancers and glioblastoma multiforme as well as inflammatory diseases.
