Anti-Transferrin Receptor 2 Antibody

This rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody was raised against a 15-amino acid peptide (e35-F51) of the C-terminal region of Human Transferrin Receptor 2 (TfR2) and is specific for human HTFR2.

Highlights:

  • Recognizes human HTFR2
  • Suitable for Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry applications

The HTFR2 is a glycoprotein that is involved in the uptake of transferrin-bound iron into cells by endocytosis. The transferrin receptor family of proteins are needed to import iron into the cell and is regulated in response to intracellular iron concentration. TfR2 is restricted to certain cell types and is unaffected by intracellular iron concentrations and has a lower affinity than TfR1.
