Rat (Sprague-Dawley) Tissue Samples
Tissue samples from various organs of Sprague Dawley rats. Avaliable in histological tissue section on glass slide (HS) or paraffin-embedded tissue block (PETB) formats. Tissues are from healthy animals, unless otherwise indicated.
The Sprague Dawley (SD) rat is often used as a general multipurpose rat model, including safety and efficacy testing, aging, nutrition, diet-induced obesity, oncology, and for surgical procedures. SD rats have a white coat color (albino). SD rats are docile and are easy to handle. This rat strain was first produced by the Sprague Dawley farms in Madison, Wisconsin in 1925.
